The narrative is delivered so effortlessly and efficiently to the audience that it appears to have no source. It comes magically off the screen. Classical Hollywood narrative refers to the filmmaking tradition established in Hollywood during the s and s. It became the dominant style throughout the western world against which all other styles were judged.

David Ehrlich’s 25 Best Movies of – Video | IndieWire
Vimeo is to my mind one of the best video networks around because it has a high concentration of creative content providers. On the contrary, on Vimeo you generally get what you ask and the quality is often better than on YouTube. That said, there is good quality on YouTube as well, no doubt about that, but it is harder to find in between the thousands of junk videos. As Vimeo is a much smaller network, good quality content gets a better chance and that is what I like about it. Like all networks, there are all sorts of subjects to be found. Secondly, you need to have a paid subscription if you want to post more then 5OOMB per week or upload more then 1 HD video weekly. This measure seems to scare off a lot of freeloaders, especially the sort that uploads badly compressed clones from TV shows and music clips although you will find them here and there.
Vimeo: the secret of good quality content
David Ehrlich. Over the last 12 months, the world seemed to be changing faster than ever, and not for the better. At a time when every day felt like a week, and every week felt like a year, watching a movie felt like a dangerous proposition; you had no idea what the world was going to look like when you walked out of the theater two hours later. Memorable Moment: A mesmeric, free-floating odyssey that wends its way through a hazy year in the molten lives of two Polish twentysomethings, this unclassifiable wonder obscures the divide between fiction and documentary until the distinction is ultimately irrelevant, using the raw material of real life to create a rich story of millennial drift. From start to finish, the film is high on the spirit of liberation.
Perhaps a close cousin to documentary, the film is at its core a personal mode of filmmaking. Structured in a breadth of forms, a partial definition could be said to be part fact, part fiction with an intense intimacy but none of these are necessarily paramount. Stemming from the literary as a form of personal expression borne from in-depth explorations of its chosen topic, the film can be agitprop, exploratory, or diaristic and generally rejects narrative progression and concretised conclusions in favour of a thematic ambivalence.
